This pitcher is in absolutely flawless condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Details: “Tuliptime” is part of the designs known as the “Delicious Dozen.” There we’re actually fourteen different designs. In the early 1920’s, Designer Harold Growcott joined the pottery company, Hollinshead & Kirkham, which at that time had relocated from Burslen in Staffordshire to Tunstall. This beautiful cream/milk pitcher shows the lovely, abstract designs of Growcott. It is hand painted and finished with a high gloss glaze. This collection is sometimes referred to as “the poor man’s Moorecroft.” This unfair description of the time is completely inaccurate today, as this is now seen as an important example of the art-deco movement. These patterns were mostly produced between WWI & WWII. |
